The Vibe Dance Academy

Meet Our Team

  • Mattie Lybbert

    OWNER & DIRECTOR

The vision for The Vibe Dance Academy is to create incredible teams. I started teaching and coaching at a young age of 12, and that led me to direct our competitive teams. As a coach, I led my first competition team to earn the highest ranks and place overall. I continued dancing while teaching andI was captain of the State and National award-winning Moses Lake High School Drill Team, and also won Regional and National Team Titles with Today’s Generation Dance Studio as well. As captain of the Molahiettes my senior year of high school, I led our team to receive three first place state championship titles, something that had never been done before. I received the Overall Talent Award in dance at the Moses Lake and Washington State Distinguished Young Women programs, along with the Overall Talent Award winner at America’s Distinguished Young Women in Mobile, Alabama. I was a backup dancer for Mandy Moore and David Archuletta at the Stadium of Fire in Utah. I auditioned and was chosen to be a dancer on the competitive collegiate team, the Brigham Young University Cougarettes, where we earned multiple First Place Titles in Dance and Hip Hop at the NDA Collegiate Dance Championship in Orlando, Florida. I also had the privilege of competing and taking the Overall Title at the International Championship Competition in Prague as a Cougarette. While on the Cougarettes I was also hand picked to be the costume director and worked closely with my coach. Lastly, I earned a Business Management degree with an emphasis in Human Resources at the Marriott School of Business at BYU. After college, I worked at PepsiCo before becoming a mom. My proudest accomplishment is being a mom. Through my training and personal experience, I know what it takes to create successful dancers and teams, and operate a demanding business. To understand our studio vision and the kind of wholesome, high quality teams we intend to create, please watch a video of a few favorite routines from the program I participated in with the BYU Cougarettes- Jazz video and Hip Hop video. I’m thrilled to partner with our staff members and share our training, experience and passion for dance- it remains a lifetime pursuit. Our staff members have just as many qualifications in their professional and personal lives. We partner together in offering the dancers in our community an incredible dance opportunity. Each dancer gets to decide how much they’ll capitalize on the opportunity and where they want to go with it. In the end, we hope our program acts as a springboard in helping participants find more confidence, resilience, and who learn to keep their commitments. We also hope they learn to love being active and value their ability to move and groove!

The Vibe Dance Academy cares about each dancer as an individual and the team as a whole. We want the best dance experience that Pasco Washington can provide. Thank you for entrusting your dancer with us. We look forward to a rewarding and productive year.
